General Admission Requirements

There are general admission requirements for all students at the University of Vienna. Depending on your country of origin or the country where you completed your BA, there are different requirements to be met.

The admission process is not to be confused with the separate application process for Matilda. The first is handled by the Admission Office and the Matilda process is handled by the coordinators who review your scientific qualifications only.

One of the main general admission requirements is language proficiency.

Language proficiency:

The language of instruction at the University of Vienna is German. In order to study at the University of Vienna German language skills at the level B2.2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) are mandatory. This requirement includes students of the Matilda programme.
